Kitchen Curtin Ideas

But the absolute best thing about sheer kitchen curtains is that they are inexpensive and easy to maintain. Like all sheer fabrics, they are easy to wash and dry, and they don’t absorb oil and grime to the extent that heavier materials do. Some people are afraid to wash sheer stuff at home owing to their delicate nature, so to them I would suggest that they get their curtains dry washed.

The only problem with sheer curtains is that they probably look a little out of place in a classical themed kitchen. In such cases, I would blindly recommend vintage kitchen curtains, you know, the kinds that Granny used to sew from old tea towels or even a tablecloth? Well, I’ve been sewing kitchen curtains for my friends and me for years, and I can say that with a little patience and common sense, you can sew a set of primitive kitchen curtains for less than five dollars.

The good thing about using an old (but not discoloured) tablecloth or pillowcase is that the lower border edging has been done for you. All you need to do is make a channel for the curtain rod along what will be the upper border of the curtain. Once you have rolled the fabric into a channel that slips over the curtain rod without being too tight or loose, hold it in place with pins and machine-stitch along the seam.

So now you also know how to make kitchen curtains, it would be inexcusable if your kitchen window were to still remain bare!
